Average Joe Roping Finals at Madonna Inn

What is the AVERAGE JOE ROPING EVENT, you ask…

BarrelHouse Brewing Co. is the proud Premier Sponsor of this year’s Average Joe Finals an equine event consisting of women’s breakaway roping and two separate co-ed team roping events throughout the weekend. The Average Joe Finals mimics the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR) each year in Las Vegas. The NFR is the “Super Bowl” of Professional Rodeo competitors. At Average Joe Finals, we allow everyone to compete in the same size arena as those who qualify for the NFR.

The Average Joe Finals will be held on November 26th, 2023, at the prestigious Madonna Inn in beautiful San Luis Obispo. This will be our eighth year holding the event. In the past seven years, we have grown from 104 to 900+ entries and have increased our payout by $80,000 since our debut event in 2016. 

This great family-friendly event embraces the Western way of life and highlights the best of our local cowboys! 

The Calcutta is held at noon on Saturday and is an excellent opportunity for spectators to be involved in the action! The teams entered in the event will be grouped into 4-5 teams. Spectators will bid during a live auction on these blocks with highest bidder winning each block! Money raised will be awarded to the top bidders whose teams place in the top 3 of the event! It is such a fun way to pick your favorite teams to cheer on throughout the event and make some extra cash!
